Welcome to Season 2 of Womenpreneur Asia! For the next 13 weeks, you’ll hear me speak to 13 incredibly inspiring yet down-to-earth women in business across Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and India. 

In this first episode of Season 2, I am excited for you to listen to my interview with Malaysian entrepreneur, See Wai Hun. 

Wai Hun is the CEO and co-founder of Juristech, a Malaysian fintech company that provides solutions to the banking industry.

Since acquiring iMoney in 2020, she is also the CEO of iMoney, a personal finance company that empowers consumers so that they can make intelligent money decisions. 

I was introduced to Wai Hun through my cousin, David. David was telling me I should talk to Wai Hun as she has done some truly amazing work in the fintech world. I followed David’s advice (thanks cousin!) and discovered she even had a Wikipedia page with a plethora of interesting accomplishments and of course, I wanted to speak to her! 

In this episode, you will hear the extremely engaging and fun conversation we had even though (and this I absolutely swear) we had just “met” about 10 minutes before we hit the record button.

She was amazing to talk to as she is extremely down-to-earth with a refreshingly curious yet sharp mind and a deep-seated humility about herself, her background and the business that she is running. 

Despite her fame and success, Wai Hun still considers motherhood her biggest accomplishment and milestone. She is a mother of two lovely girls, noting “I have  always wanted to be a mother and even said that my ambition was to be a mother.” 

Despite the ambition, Wai Hun in this interview came to realise that motherhood wasn’t automatic nor easy! During our recording, she also said that her younger daughter might wake up and would that disrupt the recording? I said that it was all right by me; after all, real life happens and I wouldn’t mind her daughter making a cameo in the podcast! 

Family and faith (her favourite book is the Bible) play a huge role in her life and it was no surprise when she said that her father was her inspiration. Wai Hun said, “He never demanded anything from me and always gave of himself to others.”

Listen to this episode as Wai Hun openly shared her heartfelt thoughts and experiences that were fascinating as well as thoroughly inspiring from the challenges of growing a business from 20 people to 300 and how she came to start her business during the Asian financial crisis in 1997 (the reason was totally surprising!).
